The Rahul Rai Effect is a before-and-after edit format. Creators stitch clips of YouTubers or streamers looking fine, then cut to the same people looking fried after a binge of recirculated Rahul Rai TikToks. Captions spell it out: Rahul Rai effect, the Rahul effect, YouTubers before and after, or Rahul Rai theory. The punchline is contagious secondhand embarrassment.
@therealrahulrai (LA-based actor and creator) built a pandemic-era following on relationship POVs, towel "bae" skits, and an imaginary son named Zayn. In summer 2026 those older clips flooded For You Pages again through reupload accounts and reaction channels. The Tab covered the wave on Aug. 12, 2026: people started on cringe comedy, then some bae and Zayn bits drew misogyny and ick discourse. That recirculation is the fuel.
