#CallingMcDonalds
Brand-account busy signal. New TikTok call button, same old chaos.
TikTok added in-app calls. People started ringing McDonald’s account just to see if anyone picks up.

What it is
This is not prank-calling a local store on the phone. In mid-August 2026 TikTok started rolling out voice and video calls inside DMs, with a call icon in chat. Within days, creators were screen-recording attempts to ring brand accounts. McDonald’s became the default target: open the chat, hit call, film the busy status or the “can’t get through” fail. Clips from accounts like @gonzak6k (“getting out of hand”) and @itsnickholiday (“people keep calling McDonald’s on TikTok”) are explaining the pile-on more than inventing a new bit. The joke is the feature plus the stampede. If you want views without adding to the spam, stitch a busy-signal clip or explain the call icon in 15 seconds.
How to try it
Screen-record TikTok DMs: open a chat, show the new call icon, then cut to a McDonald’s call attempt that fails or sits on busy.
Better angle: stitch someone who “got through” or explain why the account is jammed. Keep it under 30 seconds.

Common questions
- What is the calling McDonald’s trend?
- Users using TikTok’s new in-app call feature to ring the McDonald’s account (or film the attempt) after the mid-August 2026 DM calling rollout.
- Is it calling a restaurant phone line?
- No. The wave is inside TikTok: DM call button to accounts, not dialing your local franchise’s landline.
- Why can’t people get through?
- Too many people are ringing at once. Clips show busy status and failed attempts more than real conversations.
- Should I join by calling?
- No. Film a reaction, explainer, or stitch. Mass-calling a brand account is spam.
